The ArtWORKS Alliance, is an organization of working artists and supporters in Oxford, Alabama and surrounding communities. The AWA plans to offer the community a variety of special events and juried competitions, collaborations in community programs, work to promote Artists, Musicians, Actors, Dancers, and Writers in and around our community.
Our aim is to gather as working artists with a common goal of supporting and nourishing one another's creativity, and to provide an avenue where we can share our enjoyment of the arts, and with a focus to the development of an appreciation for art within the community.
The AWA seeks to offer residents from local and neighboring communities an avenue to broaden their creative pursuits by striving to:
Encourage artists, writers, and musicians through collaboration and interaction.
Educate through opportunities, workshops, lectures, and discussion groups.
Explore art in and around our community and surrounding cities and schools.
Exhibit in the community and build an appreciation for visual and other arts through special events and community projects.
It is an organization open to all people with a common goal to advance all arts.

SPECIAL NOTE: This event will not include food vendors and music. (The park has contracts with food vendors. We have to be careful and not violate the contracts.) We do not have the space for that, this year. There is the potential of having a much larger space next year. The park will be having tournaments that Saturday. There will be "tons" of out-of-town folks and lots of local people attending the games. I have no idea how many will visit the booths, but there is the potential for good numbers.
Vendor Fee: None for this event.
This first Art Festival, we will be limited to the number of vendors and we will be right up front, outside the main ball field, on the left, as you enter the park. I want to be up front and noticed this first festival and then work all year toward the next.
*WE ARE REQUIRED to keep the sidewalks clear of anything that might hinder walkers and joggers. Tents will be on the smooth grassy area.
