Peggy Micham
Artist
Peggy is a self-taught artist from Oxford. She began painting in the late 70's and has continued to try to improve her skill. Peggy considers herself to be a traditional oil painter always seeking to learn a new way to improve her paintings, to bring more life, more depth into them. She never knows where the next inspiration is coming from for a painting. sometimes it's a shape, sometimes a color, or the way light falls across those shapes and colors. Most often, she works from photos, but also enjoys live set up and open air painting. Peggy is a Christian with a desire to share God's creation with those around her. She wants her paintings to convey the light, the warmth, the life and joy that she finds in knowing God. Peggy especially loves to paint those things that lift the spirit up and bring joy into others lives.

Lynn Phillips
Artist
Lynn is truly an artist of different mediums. She was always interested in Art. Her designs and styles are: unique, historical and earthy. She considers Art to be a part of her all of her life. She started drawing, (graphite, charcoal, pastels, pen & ink), and then explored oils, watercolors, acrylics, and even pottery. Lynn loves it all! They all satisfy that moment of time when an ideda for an art piece must be expressed in some unique way.

Angela Sullivan

I am a painter of beautiful things. I am a self taught artist from the Deep South and I speak with that all too familiar southern drawl. I have always had a love for art and as a child I would sit and color for hours. My mother worked in a sewing factory and my father was a carpenter. They taught me values like to treat people with respect and that I could do or become anything I want to be. They were right. I hope you enjoy my paintings. I paint anything and everything. The common thread of my paintings is the use of bold bright color. I believe it is because the inner depths of my soul are filled with color that just splashes out onto everything I paint. I live to make my world a better place.

Joy Davis
Artist/Musician
Joy grew up in a home where art and music was created by both parents on a daily basis. There was always a creative "mess" in the works somewhere in the house. Music, as well as art was a family event, so learning to do both seemed to come natural.
With a desire to share the excitement of learning to play by music theory, instead of traditional note reading, Joy wrote her own teaching method in the early '80s. Years later, she taught both piano and guitar at a private academy. Since the age of 15, singing/songwriting, playing guitar and piano at various church venues, worship ministry became her passion. However, currently her true love in music is writing and performing original songs both solo and with her husband.
While living in Huntsville, Al., she began to take her love for oil painting seriously. Portraits were her favorite commission and she enjoyed the comradery at weekly figure sketching with the Huntsville Art League. Although she has dabbled in many mediums over the years, coastal and beach visits have sparked the inspiration to paint coastal scenes on glass, incorporating beach sand in most of her creations. Painting on Glass are currently available for purchase at Apple Barrel Antiques.

JC Morgan
Artist/Teacher/Gallery Owner
Independent from an early age, Morgan has always been creative in adapting to many lifestyles in her own way as her family traveled the states in her youth. "Never give up" and "Follow your heart" have always been quotes held strong in the mind of this self taught artist. Morgan leans toward folk and abstract art as it is led more so by emotion. A working mother of three boys, art allows a creative outlet from the stresses of everyday life. Morgan also runs her own gallery which promotes local artists in the area. (See the article in the May Newsletter to learn more about the Gallery.)

“Art is not what you see but what you make others see” -Edgar Degas
I am a self-taught artist from Ashville AL. I’ve been drawing and painting since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I work with any medium I can get my hands on. But I prefer oil, acrylics, water color and airbrush. I do a good bit of commissioned paintings it helps to keep the lights on. But when I have free reign I love to paint my dream. There is a whole world in side of me that is fighting to get out. Let me show you my world.
